I have been watching the discussion on engine heat problems (If it is a problem of course)
And it would appear the be the YRV Turbo that has a real hot engine bay.
So I did some digging and there were "Water Wetters" which are supposedly used to help the water cool the engine more efficiently.
Then I came across Evans Waterless Coolant!!
A good read and makes some sense to me.
So have a look - What do we think?
I would consider giving it a go in my Rally.
No water no rust. No Anti Freeze needed as it doesn't freeze unless it is 40 below.
Look forward to seeing some good replies to this.

Ummm is it another "Snake oil" like product or not???
Just had a google search and seems to be the usual pros and cons expressed by various enthusiasts.
Talk of higher engine temps, using an evans pump, removing thermostats and blocking off the bypass etc etc.......sounds not as straight forward as we would like it to be.
Think it might be well suited to some but not all so i'm sitting on the fence on this one.

If this is the sort of thing that helps engines, then why do you not see it mentioned on new cars being manufactured now? Or is it that in the long run it costs a lot of money?
Personally looking at the 'Water Wetters' stuff to try out, as my car does suffer a bit from the heat. But something that I have found is that with the air-con on, the Scangauge shows the temperature, even at standstill will hold to around 88 degrees
does mean that the engine idels quicker thus using more petrol 
Will look to get some after a bit of research and will report back

It says the above can be used in standard engines.
And you can just put it straight in.
Er - Well not quite. You have to make sure you have all the water out first, but you use a product from them to help you get rid of all the water.
Then you put in the Evans.
Nothing else to do - No special pumps of Thermostats. Just keep the system the same.
And it lasts for at least 100,000 miles.
Come on you lot. More thoughts please.
I might try to contact them, and see what they say.

I'm a sceptic anyway
I'm always sceptical about these alleged wonder products. Maybe it really is good stuff, but there would always be this doubt in the back of my mind; is it damaging my pride and joy. With our engines being all aluminium and regular coolant changes I don't think we have much to worry about in the corrosion department. When I drained my 8 year old premium the coolant was like new still. Give it a try Bob, be our Guinea Pig
I will also do some more research, as anything that claims to be more efficient is worth looking into, especially with heat the turbos create

I have contacted both Evans in the good ole U S of A, and their people in this country.

They both say exactly the same. It will go pretty much straight in.
You may get a Guinea Pig after all.
A bit more research on it I think.
