No: try an oiltite stick
No: try an oiltite stick which are available from many classic motor component dealers or specialists. Tyr a company called Eastwood as they sell them.
All you do is to rub it hard on the leaking area and it will seal it as it forces fibres into the joint.
Up a bit.
The leak could be from higher up and seemingly from the sump. The leak could be from seal at the gearbox shaft.

Torque wrench
If you are attempting to tighten the nuts you must use a torque wrench. I would try a torque wrench before any other suggestions but make certain you set to the correct lb/ft. Tighten gradually around the sump - tightening opposite nuts and work away from the wider centre towards the smaller ends of the sump to iron-out any kinks.
Perhaps someone tightened it at random and that is why it has multiple leaks.
