Hi m8I have removed manua

Hi m8

I have removed manual hubs m8 but not the auto variety...however there may be similarities so I will take you through removal of manual hubs and u can compare with what you see on yer own wheels.

To remove the manual hub you first undo 5 or is it 6 small torx head(bit like an allen key) bolts which hold the hub face plate on.
Once thats off you can get to the outer wheel bearing without having to remove the whole freewheeeling hub unit. By removing the large hex nut you see (often with a large screwdiver/chisel and hammer...not recommended...get the right sized socket) and then a lock washer and finally another large hex nut which is in behind the lock washer ..you can remove/extract the outer wheeel bearing. If you need to get to the inner bearing you will have to remove the whole frewheeling hub unit and then the brake caliper and finally the brake disc.

To get the freewheeling hub off you undo the five largish allen key bolts that hold the hub body on.

Then remove the nuts and washer mentioned above.

Undo the two bolts holding the caliper to the backing plate..move caliper up and out of way...careful not to damage brake lines.

Brake disc should come off fairly easily with a jiggle and pull..if not bash from behind with heavy rubber mallet or the like.

The disc comes off with wheel hub attached..inner bearing is in behind the hub hiding underneath an oil seal.

Dunno if manual hubs have same fixings holding them on but hope this is of some help anyway.

If you need any more info ...just holler.
