Neoprene Bushes !! Urethane !!

Does anyone know where I can get Neoprene Bushes from?

Or is there someone who makes them to order?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

(Sensible ones that is) Eye-wink

Also any ideas on Urethane?

Cheers, Bob F.

uprating suspension bushes?

Hi Bob,
Demon Tweeks do a range of poly urethane bushes, they might be powerflex. But just a word of caution....

If your thinking of installing stiff bushes in the rear of the Sirion, after installing the uprated rear springs, and if your leaving the fronty springs as standard then you could be heading for trouble in two areas...

First off you will have massively increased the roll stiffness of the rear in relation to the front - don't want to get too techy but the bottom line is you will change the cars handling balance from being a mild understeering car to potentially quite a hairy oversteering car - good for drifting but maybe too much for the open road.

The other potential issue is the rear suspension linkages.

When they installed polybushes in the trailing links connecting the back axle on the avanzato rally cars (specifically to make them easier to oversteer!), the increased twisting loads put into the trailing links resulted in some failures and the rally cars got uprated trailing links.

I can't remember if the trailing links on the Sirion are the same as the avanzato, or if they are already stronger.

Having said that, stiffening the rear up on the avanzatos did make them a much more fun drive, but you had to watch out for the lift off oversteer Smiling

Too Stiff.

Hi Dave.

I don't want to stiffen them right up Dave.

Just a little is possible. Smiling

Sirion Rally 4's already oversteer as standard, and I'm off to the Japfest at Rockingham so will look at some Avazato suspentions while I am there and ask the relevant questions.

I went into my Daihatsu Dealership and asked for a price for all four Rubber Bushes - Guess what - You cant buy them seperately. Sad

You have to buy the whole arm complete with the bushes fitted.--

Don't like the new shape Sirion much.Sorry.

Would polyurethane do?

Bob,

Not sure if this is what you are after but I have bought some universal Exhaust Mounts for my YRV 130 from a supplier on E-bay who used this company;

http://www.powerflex.co.uk/products/Universal+Range-139/1.html

There is a catalogue you can download in PDF to get sizes etc... This is how I found the correct exhaust mount for my car from their universal range.

Unfortunately I couldn't find a company that made Daihatsu specific bushes at the time.

Hope this helps?

Jon.

Been Searching !

Looks like Polyurethane is the one I'm after. Why I said Neoprene must be due to my age Smiling
I have looked at the Powerflex Site Jon, and after a search there are many others, but none (Of Course) have anything for Sirions. I'm hoping they may be a standard type bush.

Now I have to see if I can get any that are a standard fitting etc.

Will have to get under car and carefully measure the bl--dy things. Sad

Not in any mad rush though.

Will let you know how I go on.

Cheers, Bob F.
