You could possibly drop the car a little by putting on Rally 2 Springs. Widen the tyres a little (But not much)
There is not much you can dop to the engine I'm afraid.

1000 cc or 1300 ?
Type of engine will be on plate on firewall in engine compartment.
Have a look and tell us what it says.

Hi there and welcome. Unfortunately you have bought into a brand unlike a Ford Fiesta or a Vauxhall Corsa
where aftermarket bits are in abundance. As for the Daihatsu they are not I'm afraid 
Looking at the picture you have a pre-face lift model Phase 1 Sirion. Only other bits would have been from a Daihatsu dealer, but looking at the picture I take it you already have the side and bumper protectors? Only other thing you could get which may give a bit of a stand out are some Wind deflectors perhaps? You can buy these aftermarket from a company called 'Climair'. Good luck.

My wife had one of your cars !
She had it three years and it never missed a beat in all that time.
But you need to keep the revs up to get it moving at a fair pace.
She then got a Phase 2 1300 SL in Metallic Blue. And I loved driving it and I was hooked.
The rest is history.
Mods are difficult, but I beleive the Suspension is the same for the Phase 1 and 2 so you could drop it a bit fairly easily and quickly and you could put on slightly wider wheels. But I don't think you could do anything to the engine.
But it is a reliable car if you look after it.
