YRV gearbox change

Forum:

Hi All any one know if the charade 1.3 16 v auto box will fit the YRV, or if the Yaris 1.3 Auto box will fit the YRV, my ones gone bang and I belive one of these will do the job, would like to get some confirmation before buying.

Many thanks

YRV and Sirion F-Speed models.....

Skylab,

Not sure about the auto-boxes you have mentioned from those models. But I do know that both the YRV F-Speed and Sirion F-Speed models (1.3 16v k3-ve engine) use the same auto-boxes as the YRV Turbo.
Or to make life even easier why not contact Daihatsu-Dave who is currently dis-mantling a YRV Turbo and may have the auto-box for sale. Smile

By the way what happened to that E-mail you were going to send me? Wink

The other YRV's and M100

The other YRV's and M100 Sirion's have a different part number to the Turbo so there must be a slight difference.
The Charade number is also different to either.
The Yaris i doubt will be the same.
I'm hanging on to my spare box for now, sorry.
Yours is proof that they can fail, be very hard to source and no doubt mega expensive at the Dealership...if they have one that is.
Your best bet would be to send to an auto gearbox specialist, it might only be a minor fault and cheapish to sort. Once you know whats wrong you might be able to swap a part from one of the other similar boxes if they are different??
Good luck

Can't get them right all the time.....

Good job your around Dave, I thought the YRV F-Speed would share the same auto-box as the turbo model, as the YRV F-Speed has the same steer-shift function as the turbo, oh well Smile

I wonder what causes this failure on the auto-boxes for the Turbo? I wonder if gearbox oil changes should be part of the servicing, luckily I got the oil changed in mine last year, hopefully that will help..
