2.8 ind tdx hub.

Forum:

Please bear with me as this will take some explaining... right my fourtrak... when i got it the guy told me that the off side free wheeling hub was goosed but as it was a project i didnt care for the time being so i set about servicing each wheel station at a time. when i got to the off side i took the hub plate off so i could take the hub off whichhas seen better days but then you need to remove a spring type washer which releases a ring thing inside it to get the bearing.when i took it off the other side i removed the hub then could get straight to the torq studs to then ge the bearing nut off so this ring thing was missing yet everything was working. i just cant seem to find out what this round washer lookin thing is and if i actually need it. come on someone must know what im waffling about.

Wonkey Shonkey Hub

Hi.
Your post is confusing, seems you have a locking tab washer from a manual hub, which is used to replace the locking components used in the auto hub.

Suggest you aquire a service manual,it has exploded drawing ilustrating components which make up the Auto Hubs.

A Sevice Manual is available fron the site ( Top of page), as a download or CD.
