Spotted my Car twin on the A34 Chesterton, Newcastle-Under-Lyme, Stoke today :-)

Forum:

Well it had to happen sooner than later, I was driving down the A34 in Chesterton (Newcatle-Under-Lyme) @ 3:45pm today (Sunday 21st March)towards Makro and low and behold coming up on the opposite carrage-way was another Yellow YRV Turbo with the Turbo stickers in-tact, unfortunately the driver wasn't interested in acknowlegding me as he was too busy chatting to his missus ;), but hey didn't think I would see another Yellow turbo owner in the flesh on the road (Accept the time I met up with Mark Bishop at last years Northwest meet in Warrington Smile )
Anyone on here?

Anyone??????

Well it wasn`t me,,,,but it would be nice to find out exact numbers of these cars,,what are the odds on passing another one on the roads...and it is nice to have a car that is an eye catcher!!!!!..

Yep it would be nice to know

Yep it would be nice to know how many are about. What made this one special was that the car still had the stickers on the car (like mine) which made it stick out even more. Got a feeling that the owner doesn't frequent the forum Sad oh well will keep my eye out again. Have seen the odd non-turbo YRV about but again we seem to be not the friendly of people to acknoewledge each other on the road it seems Sad

I don't know if it was a

I don't know if it was a YRV(don't know what they look like), but when I went up to see my grandparents near Tamworth, I saw a bright yellow Daihatsu car with massive "Turbo" black stickers down the side. The wife of the owner of the local pub owns it so its always parked outside.

Edit: Just googled it and it was a YRV, so a third Turbo now! I wanted to take a picture, but I kept forgetting to take my phone, D'oh!

There was/is someone selling

There was/is someone selling a yellow turbo in Staffordshire not long ago on Pistonheads. These cars seem to crop up for sale but mostly found in the South of England/Wales from what I am seeing. Oh well thanks for letting me know Smile

It was me!

It must have been me - on the way to Morrisons before it shut.

Sorry I didn't see you but if I had then acknowledgement would have been made Smile

I've owned my Yrv Turbo for 5 years now and I have to say its a superb car, very reliable, practical and fast (well in a straight line lol!)

I kept the decals on the sides because it makes the car quite unique on the roads and has attracted both positive and negative attention in the past. Never met a fellow YRV Turbo owner, in fact most people ask if I imported the car or even if I had made it myself!

Nearly 60k miles on the clock, drives like new but gonna keep it till it dies.

Numbers seem to be

Numbers seem to be growing!!!! another meet looks to be on the cards soon i think...as it is getting warmer..

And we have a winner! :-)

Cool. No worries about not acknowledging me, from what I observed she who must be obeyed had some of your attention Wink
It was one of those moments where I could see you entering the Parkgate Round-a-bout just as I was approaching it from the opposite side to get to Makro. I have owned mine for over 2 1/2 years now, and yeah when i got it, straight line was fione corners were dicey. Have modified mine to improve that situation with lower springs, and wider wheels with a front strutbrace Smile

Could be an idea in the making there Mark Smile was considering Japfest but the state of my car at the moment would make it look an embarrasment Sad

Hi Mark. Would consider

Hi Mark. Would consider Japfest but would end up going in my Scooby as it's in better nick than my YRV Turbo at the moment Sad My alloys on the YRV are knackered due to the harsh winter and those damned potholes. Wouldn't mind a get together.....
