Sportrak Bures pit 4x4 01_09_07 02

autohubs.

Hi,

I called into my local breakers today to find a fourtrak which had just been brought in.
I removed the roof spoiler and then noticed it had autohubs fitted, so i purchased the hubs.
I was feeling very pleased with myself untill i removed the hubs and then tried to fit them to my tdx,i had no idea just how much of the original workings i should have removed from the donar truck!
how much should i have removed from the half shaft in order to fit onto my truck ?

Thanks Frank.

what years yours and what

what years yours and what year was the scrap one

I know this does not help

I know this does not help with your query, but I'm guessing you truck has manual hubs at the mo? I'd leave well alone (assuming youe current hubs work fine), as autos ar less reliable than the old manuals. Depends what you want out of you car of course.

Any veiws expresed in this thread by me are purely from my own experience, and (sometimes) falible memory. Hope my comments help, but please don't take them as gospel.

Auto Hubs

I agree with Nev.K, auto huds are unreliable,as they get older. I have replaced mine with manuals. Just remenber to lock them in BEFORE you may need them.
